Prusa Live Tease of MMU changes
In the latest Prusa Live they mentioned that they are going to be releasing some new changes for the MMU, which they said would be software and implied that there might be some hardware? As bad of an experience as most of us have had with this MMU, I guess you have to give them credit for continuing to work on it. Mine still is acting like it’s possessed, and by that I mean it seems to act randomly.

Ditto. However, they’ve been saying this will be released “soon” for a while. Maybe an early holiday present from Prusa? 🤞🙏

I just listened to it but didn't hear anything about the MMU? I heard the XL stuff, which is good. I was working on a printer, so I guess I maybe missed it???

Yes, there are changes afoot, you can get the gist of it by looking on the Prusa Github for the MK3 firmware...

I went back to listen through the news section again and can’t find it. I swear it was during that segment that they again there will be some MMU “optimizations” and “other changes”. Sorry I can’t find a time stamp, but I know I heard it because I was debating on getting one myself.

I wouldn’t buy one now. Especially since taking it apart is difficult. I’d wait until they come out with whatever they’re teasing and see if it works.
