Multi Color without Block

Hello, I am new to this, but I read once about printing with an MMU2 where you could hide the color change within the model that you are printing. Could someone point me in the direction on how to do that? Any help would be appreciated!

RE: Multi Color without Block

In PrusaSlicer (looking at my version 2.2.0+), right click on the object in the list box, and select "Wipe options" in the menu. This will add a checkbox you can check for “Wipe into this object's infill.” You can do this for the entire model or individual parts (colors).

There is also an option “Wipe into this object” which will also use the perimeters of the model. That won't produce a properly colored model, but you can use it to print an extra model you don't care about the colors of, so that it serves the purpose of the wipe tower. Your print will take just as long, but you'll have a useful object instead of a block of plastic.

Note that wipe into infill will not eliminate the wipe tower entirely, unless there is enough volume of infill at the layers where color changes are happening to satisfy the specified purging volume. This is affected by the size of the model (horizontally), choice of infill density, and choice of purging volume.
