MMU2S Wont Change Filament/Difficult Load/Cutter wont stay: Just trying to get spool join to work!

I have an MK3 upgraded to MK3S+MMU2. Upgraded, assembled and calibrated all according to the online manuals.

I am trying to get spool join to work with ABS

Problems:

1. Filament wont always load on the MMU. The curl of the filament often causes it to miss the opposite port of the long multi-bondtech gear (which have all been spaced correctly). In order to load, I need to unhinge the rotating selector and guide the filament in with my fingers.

2. Selector cutter blade will not stay put. Despite resetting it and tightening it down, the "pointed" corner of the blade often stabs the cutting channel in the PLA housing causing the blade to slide out of the clamp, sometimes blocking a filament port, or falling out all together. As a result ends of filaments are not properly trimmed and get bent and jammed in the cutter channel when the selector moves.

3. When I do have filaments loaded, the first 'load to extruder' often works. But when the end of the spool is detected, the attempt to load the next filament fails. The mmu gears engage, but they wont pull the filament far enough or at all to get to the extruder. When I open/unhinge the MMU the filament is all chewed up with dust everywhere.

This is all very frustrating. Scanning the forums/gihub I see  similar problems/complaints. I would really like this to work as I do have multi-color parts to print. But if I cant even get spool join to work then there is no point in trying!

I welcome any advice or suggestions!

Thanks!
