Issues during printing PolyMaker PC-MAX

Hello here a list of identified issue during operation: (firmwares 3.5.1/MMU 1.0.3)

Issue 1 : After installing polycarbon filament (Polymaker PC-MAX) after when export Gcode file from Slic3r 1.41.2 : Adding "ABS" as filament type instead of "PC" in file name.

Issue 2 : With "Polymaker PC-MAX" mode, printing start without problem with Bed temperature for the first layer at 100°C and switch to 115°C for the other layers. But temperature bed increase very slowly but reach 115°C despite that my prusa is in closed box with 40°C regulated temperature: printing fails with "Bed Temp Error".

Impossible to get control to recover printing (screen freezed) : I didn't try with reset button of panel because I think it will reset calibration parameters... So hard restart printer twice but always printing fail with "Bed Temp Error" at 115°C.. I've modified parameters in Slic3r to 110°C : printing succeeded !

Issue 3 : When I had to stop printing in progress because unwanted line selection (many times toggle button is not stable : it select another line after pushing or very slow screen to refresh listing) . After printer stop, I wanted to unload filament but there's no message asking to preheat before removing operation because extruder motor will stall.

Issue 4 : In attachment, you'll find the nozzle-fan-45deg part melted during printing part with PC-Max (2h45 time printing) --> PETG is not suitable with bed at 115°C. So I'm looking for best material which not melt at 115°C: have you an idea ?

Regards
Stef

Re: Issues during printing PolyMaker PC-MAX

You can print in ABS.
To avoid the the Bed Temp Error, set the first layer to 115C. So the printer will wait until it's stable. Make sure the part cooling fan is also off during print.
