RE: I'm done
With you from 2 days ago! 🙁
MMU2S way to quirky - fun to tinker with? I prefer printing useful stuff, and being reasonably sure that it will print first time.
I disconnected the MMU2S control and power wires at the MMU2S end, and unmounted it - I may go back after Covid - I'm printing face visors and some accessories that may be useful - I cannot be bothered with fiddling with the MMU2S and settings and clearing blockages - BTW my brute force and ignorance method for clearing MMU2S induced blockage is to heat up towards 280 and push (supporting the extruder assembly) lol - works a treat for clearing a blockage without any disassembly YMMV.

RE: I'm done
The product is a mess I feel that all day I'm dealing with just fixing the errors you cannot just leave the printer and assume that you come after several hours and you have a printed model on the bed .all the time you have to think and you have to be near it today I had a print of 9 hours and 5 times the extruder ejected the filament and I need to bring it back but it will not go back just because you pushed it inside it needs to push 15 times on mmu2 . who has the time and who has the nerves to deal with it so much.
The product needs and major upgrade to make it even reasonably Reliable I wouldn't even consider the product is a beta model.
It is clearly Not something that you want to deal with I'm returning my unit and hopefully there will work on a different model that will not have so many issues I'm not an engineer but I could easily find ways to design the unit better.
The whole system that has to do with inserting the filament through the unit needs to go through a very serious revision as it is so highly unreliable and I was never using more than 1 color 1 filament and I imagine myself what would be if I will try to use multiple filaments!!!
RE: I'm done
This is realy strange.
I do single Colour prints most of the time. I have 5 Colors installed (my favourits) and choose just the one I like. Very rarely there are Problems with the initial loading of the Filament, but never once it has started . Even dual Color prints works with no or minor interactions. Multicolor prints with very high number of tool changes are another Story. There I Need to dig into the Filament Parameter (Temperature and ramming) and still getting one or the other failure. But still good enough to Keep this tool - simply because there is Nothing else available.
RE: I'm done
volker-h3, there will always be some variability in our experience (i myself have gone days of MMU2S single colour prints working well) however I do not want to waste time digging into filament parameter regarding ramming - i want to print stuff without the digging, fidling, testing - I think that the ramming is one of the main issues and the one that was causing me the blocks - to me this is a MMU2S issue not an mk3S issue - the stock mk3s ejects filament with quite nice looking ends - put a MMU2s into the equation and the bets are off and a few prints down the line the wispy ends appear, and prints fail. I switch between 0.6 and 0.4 nozzles so even more tuning required for MMU2S.
During this covid emergency I (like so many other printers, makers, tinkers, businesses around the world) am printing stuff to help my community - I need to do this consistently and efficiently - I still have the MMU2S and may put it back on but for now I need to print consistently and not print, fail, fiddle print, etc.
