Filament not unloading

Hi all,

Unsure if this is a firmware issue or not but I'm starting to experience more failures unloading the filament at the end of a print. The filament is jamming at the extruder end. I'm not having any problems printing.

Are there any guides to following? I've looked but can only find loading suggestions, not unloading.

I've the latest firmware for the MK3S, MMU2S and PrusaSlicer.

RE: Filament not unloading

I have the same problem since upgrading to 3.8.0. If I print with MMU2S in single mode at the end of the print the filament doesn’t unload, extruder heater is off, but bed heater seems to stay on...

This is exactly what I came here for. Same exact issue as you both described. No issues on earlier firmware. However on 3.8 (1.06 MMU) I am experiencing frequent unload errors in single mode.

Right then. I followed the advise from another post (@chris-b59) that pointed out another firmware - https://github.com/TheZeroBeast/TZB-MMU2S-Firmware/releases

Since installing this, I've not had a single filament jam. The bonus it that the error messages are much more helpful and it just seems more efficient. I wish Prusa would look at this firmware and implement it into the official version.

Make sure you follow the Bowden setup (simply making sure the filament runs into the middle of the gears) and you should be fine.
