Re: 2000 tool change mark
Thats tragic @toaf
Not a fail from selector trouble, missed load, bad tip etc. Would have never considered that could happen.

Re: 2000 tool change mark
after a fast look, it seems 190 is max Z for me. ill look into it more after the next print.
doesn't look like it's my fault 190 is max but I have to look closer later to make sure.
I have a Prusa,therefore I research.
Re: 2000 tool change mark
well I had some wires sticking out that wouldn't let the extruder go above about 180/190
it looks like the filament run out raises the extruder around 20 mm or so.
anyone know how much a "crash detected" moves the extruder up?
I feel I must do science to explain why my super jedi test failed.. at least it didn't fail from filament issues
I have a Prusa,therefore I research.
Re: 2000 tool change mark
by the way purge block weighed 1.2 pounds. at least the fail was my fault (kinda)
I have a Prusa,therefore I research.
Re: 2000 tool change mark
And the print weighed?
i3 Mk3 [aug 2018] upgrade>>> i3MK3/S+[Dec 2023]
Re: 2000 tool change mark
didn't even weigh it. not that much. I knew this test was gonna be a filament eater
I have a Prusa,therefore I research.
Re: 2000 tool change mark
Yeah ¾ of a whole spool of purge is … scary
i3 Mk3 [aug 2018] upgrade>>> i3MK3/S+[Dec 2023]
Re: 2000 tool change mark
blame the 3900 tool changes. i know i could have saved some by making the purge abit smaller.. but its ok. all about the till changes
I have a Prusa,therefore I research.
Re: 2000 tool change mark
i printed 2 things that was over 200mm so on mine i have clearance.

Re: 2000 tool change mark
ya 100% my bad. the dumb useless filament sensor wire wasn't all the way in.
I have a Prusa,therefore I research.
Re: 2000 tool change mark
i can tell you that as the height increases there is a concern to how the orange tube deforms in a very upwards 'U' shape and how much more friction this introduces to the unload/load cycle.
many of my tall prints happened to end with one color requiring no color changes for the last 10-20mm
