Z Calibration problem after fitting MMU2

Hi. After fitting the MMU2 to my Mk3 machine I tried to recalibrate the X,Y & Z axes. I found that when the Z axis came down to start the first point calibration it was 12,5mm above the top of the bed plate. As such it failed to locate the position presumably due to a time out. I tried resetting the Pinda probe position and repeatedly tried to resolve the problem. The only way I could get it to locate the position was if I had the probe set about 10mm below the nozzle. Clearly useless from a working point of view. Despite all attempts to rectify the problem the only way I could get the printer to work was to fool the Z axis into thinking it was at its top position when it wasn't. I did this by putting 7mm thick packers under each top Z axis locator.

When the Z axis then went on to calibrate the position it rapid traversed down to became only 5.5mm above the bed plate and hence it could locate its proper position before any time out occurred.

I realise that this was a bodge to get it to work but I would like to try to resolve what was causing the problem in the first place.

I had a similar problem - what I did was basically start over with the calibration.

Move the nozzle to the bed, set the pinda location using the zip tie spacing, use the autohome and then go through the wizard.

It kept crashing into the bed until I did that - when I did that it moves to home and then all the way to the top and from that point on it properly calibrated everything.

Did you use the R4 extruder parts and IR sensor? If so you need to change to the 3S firmware as well as this extruder design is higher up than R3. Else you will continue to have this problem.
