Trouble Loading TPU

Hi,

I am having problems loading TPU with multi material.  For some reason the IR sensor is not picking it up.  I did not have this trouble previously. I checked it with regular PLA and no problems.  Also sometimes even when loading PLA the filament tries to load it loads and unloads several times.  I am guessing something is going on with the IR sensor.?  I checked it and it registers a 1 when loaded as well as FINDA..  TPU gets bunched up in the Bondtek Gears... and makes ugly noise...  I have to shut off printer and then take it all apart to fix.  Any guesses whats going on here. ?

Thanks

RE: Trouble Loading TPU

I quote from the prusa tutorial:

Loosen your idler as much as possible before you start loading the filament/printing. There is a high risk that the filament will tangle around the bondtech if there’s too much pressure on the string.

(I'm using MMU2S. So I alway "reload" the filament and "load it to nozzle". And then I start the print in OctoPrint).

I raised the speed to 30mm (from 15 mm). No problems anymore.

I made a "flip-case" for my wife without problems: She can use her Samsung J7 and her Xiaomi Mi A2 in a TPU-Double-Case now.

RE: Trouble Loading TPU

when I try to load to nozzle the TPU begins to come out of the nozzle but just keeps extruding like it is running until it feels resistance(?). I am not sure. I have printed hundreds of prints in PLA and even MMU changes. I can not get TPU to load. It makes it to the nozzle and then just keeps extruding until it times out then tries to unload TPU. This is all being done from the screen. I even tried to control axis and load nozzle from extruder control then start file print but it levels then tries to load TPU even though it is already all the way to the nozzle.

RE: Trouble Loading TPU

There are two sensors, one in the MMU and another in the head of the extruder. the one inside the head is not detecting it so it just keep running filament until it does... I have been hoping there was a fan made redesign for the sensor but most people just say to loosen a screw and pray it seems. Still hunting myself for a good fix.
