Tension bondtech gears / skipping gears MMU2.0

Hi,

I had some bondtech gear issues over the time in the past (skipping, under extrusion) before the MMU upgrade. I send in the printer for servicing, and the problem was almost gone (from time to time you hear a noise). They updated it to the newest version (Hotend body, PTFE tube, Fan position etc) and replaced the hotend too.

Yesterday I received my MMU2 upgrade and after installing it to the printer the bondtech gears start to skip again 🙄

I double checked the filament way is moving freely, I had to preload the tensions springs "alot" more than before the upgrade, this helped but the gears are skipping more frequently.

Any suggestions!?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

so I adjusted the preload of the extruder bondtech gears like I found it here -> https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/hardware-firmware-and-software-help-f56/mmu2-troubleshooting-t24123.html

I disconnected the MMU2.0 and tested the printer without the material selector but with the MMU spoolholder and noticed that even I will need some uncommon force by hand to pull out the filament... Seems way to much for me, this would explain the issues with the bondtech gears.

Will check the spool holders, but I really don't know how free the spool must be. Seems everything OK to me, like I assembled it as described in the manual.

Cheers
