Spool slack management problems

We'll I've built and installed my MMU2 unit and successfully printed on the first try with only one jam. Overall I'm very impressed on how well this mechanically complex unit works. However, the one annoying problem I had was the spools getting unwound and tangled on the neighboring spools when the filament retracts on filament change. Babysitting the spools on a 15 hour print isn't my idea of fun. Any good ideas for managing this problem with the prusa spool holders short of a totally new design?

Two main options: Beat head against wall, or build something new. Mine works excellent and others have had some success as well.

Agreed: you should remove the filament tangling from the equation, there are enough other complexities with the MMU2.

You'll see several setups in that other thread, mostly because they are fun and satisfying to design/build. Abraham's is the simplest and seems quite effective, so I'd start with that.

I actually had a problem with only one of the spools, but here was my fix:

I am using a piece of PTFE tubing and a ziptie and the old spool holder. I haven't had a single problem since!
