Selector not selecting
While in the “Load Filament -> Load All” process, I can get lane 1 loaded. In other words:
- The MMU2S boots up.
- The selector moves to the right (when viewed from the front) and then to the left.
- The selector moves to lane 1.
- Red LED.
- I push the filament through
- Filament gets grabbed, detected, retracted.
But, then, the LED in lane 2 turns blinking red. I can push the filament forward, where it will get grabbed by the drive gear. But, the selector hasn’t moved over. The drive gear will continue to move the filament, but there is not a selector in the right lane to catch it.
Notice in this picture, the white filament is coming out of lane 3, but the selector is still on lane 2. (I already had lane 1 loaded when I took this picture, so the selector got stuck on lane 2) Notice the blinking LED in lane 3.
On LiveChat with support, it was suggested that the lid was tightened too much, but I’m careful to ensure the bolt heads are flush with the surface, as indicated in the build manual.
Support also asked for pictures of the electronic connections, but we got cut off (repeatedly) at that point. Here are those pictures, should they show anything wrong.
Thank you so much for any help you can provide! Like so many here in this forum, I so want this to work. But, I'm super depressed about how fiddly it is and scared by the steepness of the learning curve.

Hello,
First check all hardware components. The selector must be able to be moved smoothly over the entire path.
Next I would check all electrical wires for tightness. It is also important that you have installed the latest and correct firmware.

RE: Selector not selecting
Karl,
Thanks for your suggestions. I am using the latest firmware on both the printer and the MMU2S.
The selector does move smoothly, for instance, at boot when it slides left and right. Or, if I use the menu to command it to load filament in the various lanes.
All wiring is firmly in the clips.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Bill
