Rehome the selector?
I’m still trying to get my first successful print after I assembled my kit. After a lot of trouble (driver board turned out to be faulty, got a new one) I’m getting the feeling that I’m very close to success.
Need to tweak the tip now, as I get stringing. The print was doing well, until a piece of filament snapped of from the selector, slowing it down and causing it to misalign.
Is there any way to recover from a selector that got misaligned during print? There is no re-Home to trigger I guess?
Re: Rehome the selector?
I have no clue of what you are calling a "selector" ...
But in practice, only by pausing a print can you resume a print. Either a manual pause, or an automatic filament out or power fail pause. If something goes wrong during the print, generally you need to start from zero. Even intentional pauses are subject to not resuming as expected.
ps: My bad -- didn't notice the MMU part. Stepping out of the discussion now.
Re: Rehome the selector?
It’s the thing that picks one of the 5 filaments attached to the MMU2 unit, I thought it was called the selector?
This is the MMU sub forum, so maybe you confused it with the normal MK3 troubleshooting topics? 😉
Re: Rehome the selector?
the newest firmware seems to make them more "fixable"
I have cleared the jams then unplugged it. and it has recovered a few times now. (50% my fault)
it re homes before printing again.
I have a Prusa,therefore I research.
Re: Rehome the selector?
@toaf MK3 or MK2.5?
Get the feeling that the firmware is incompatible with the MK2.5 because it’s 12V vs 24V so no StallGaurd feature active (enabling the stepper motor to ‘detect’ the walls on both sides, as well as detect blocking moves.
Re: Rehome the selector?
mk3. but you might be able to try hitting the reset button on the mmu. after clearing it. its worth a try anyhow. if (when) it happens to me again I will try just using the reset on the mmu.

Re: Rehome the selector?
@toaf: thanks, I didn’t realize the MMU had a reset button 🙂 , will try if resetworks.
