Printing air with MK2.5 MMU2

I just got my MMU2 installed on my MK2.5 two days ago, and got the individual filament calibration done yesterday. After fighting with an issue, I started printing again today, but after about 40mm in, it started printing air. Looking at the extruder, the filament from the MMU2 was not making it to the gears of the extruder. Why is it failing, when I have done the individual filament calibration successfully right before this build? I used the gcode for the multimaterial lizard on the Prusa website.
Photos of the failed print are attached.

Re: Printing air with MK2.5 MMU2

welcome to the mmu 2..

I just worked on all the my filament paths. in the mmu and going to the extruder.

also that dumb small ptfe tube above the unused filament sensor can be a pain and get hooked on.

once you know where the hold up is and fix it all should be well.

if it makes you feel better, I would bet about all of us have that same lizard 😀

I have a Prusa,therefore I research.

i always recommend this mod:

https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/general-discussion-announcements-and-releases-f53/mmu2-another-solution-for-layer-skipping-due-to-fi-t25334.html#p115345

Easy to todo and quite effective. After the mod you set the calibration length to over feed and your done.

This and setting the loading speed to 19 mm/s made my MMU reliable (at least for PLA)

PS: And i have two of the "half" lizzards

EDIT: Don't use the prescliced files. When i got my MMU they were sliced with settings that are not working.

this might sound crazy...

loosen up the top cap for the filament sensor abit. when mine is loading it dances abit during the motor mis-match load stuff

@toaf - which cap are you referring to? The square printed piece on top of the Extruder, with the brass fitting for the press-to-lock fitting?

@maximilian.r - I am going to slice a file and try that tonight
