Printer head jams filament after upgrade(MMU2.0)
Hi!
Spent a lot of time searching problems with the MMU2.0 unit yesterday went I was ready to start printing, until I found out the problem is in the printer head after upgrading to the new model. The filament stucks, some times before reaching the bontech gears, some times after, making the gears skippimg an damaging the filament. I did some checks on the inlet part and the short PFTE tube above the filament sensor, and the printed part of the main printer head body does seem to allow the PFTE tube to be seated in wrong position. Still, the filament stucks further in, maybe around 25-26mm from the inlet were the bowden PFTE is mounted.
Seems like main problem is in the printed part just before filament getting visual above the bontech gears.
Also, it looks like I should need to adjust the alignment of the bondtech gears to the filament path and that this should be in the manual for upgrading the printer head. Anyway, for now there is a problem somewhere before it reaches the bondtech gears so I didnt do this yet.
I will search the regular Mk3 for this issue, but I think thread would fit here, if others gets the same issue the tips to not only focus on the MMU like I did would be helpfull.

Re: Printer head jams filament after upgrade(MMU2.0)
See this post: https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/hardware-firmware-and-software-help-f56/mmu2-troubleshooting-t24123.html (BOWDEN TUBE)
For me, the problem was the curl on the filament. Because of the taper at the lower end of the tube, the filament was catching on the lip inside the lower Festo. My solution was to replace the tube with regular PTFE and only taper the top. Or it is possible to cut off about 2mm at the lower end of the tube, removing the taper, but you will need to recalibrate the feed.

Re: Printer head jams filament after upgrade(MMU2.0)
Thank you PJR for the reply, and a very good help in your link to get going with the MMU. I was away for a week but now I'm back did check everything.
Actually I didn't find anything and nothing helped, it was still skipping on the bondtech gear in the printer head. Sometimes it could begin to print for a short while but then started skippin' .
Was about to give up but I decided to change the nozzle first. Seems it did the trick, thought the nozzle I took away only had a very few prints.
For now, I'm at least 15mins in the test print and it seems to work. No skipping sounds. --> <-- Here should be a happy emoij, but I'vent got the guts to put it there just now. 🙂
Thanks again, PJR !
