Nylon too short to power supply.

I’m finalizing my mmu2 upgrade to my mk3. The nylon that runs with the wire bundle seems now to be short compared to the wire cover. I had no problems with it before. Should I just trim the wire loom?. What is that nylon even fore?. Static electricity?.

thanks

RE: Nylon too short to power supply.

I assume you're referring to the cable between the electronics box and the extruder. Have you twisted the "textile sleeve" so that it spirals around the cables, as per step 62 of the MK3-to-MMU2S instructions? That might make it shorter.

Excess length of the textile sleeve can be tucked into the electronics box, if there's not too much of it.

The purpose of the nylon is as a strain relief and guide for the extruder cable bundle — it stiffens the bundle so that it does not droop into the print area, and does not bend sharply which would fatigue the wires.
