MMU2s idler does not select the same filament line as the selector?

So I just finished building my MMU2 unit for my MK3s updated the firmware, checked and calibrated the printer according to the handbook. I loaded the 1 and 2 filament lines than started the two color 3dbenchy gcode provided by prusa however, when it goes to load the filament the selector will move to line 2 and the idler will select line 1 and start feeding. The weird thing is that I can load and select both line manually using the buttons so I'm not really sure whats going on with it. My gut tells me that something got put together wrong when I was building it.

I would reboot the printer with no filament in the selector first, let it do its happy dances

on printer settings, try doing a "load all"

I swear sometimes if a filament gets stuck and it tries to move the selector if takes power from the "filament idler" roller motor. then it all needs a reset.

I tried what you suggested and it appears to have worked. I just kept the 2 filaments in the 1&2 slots and did the "load all" function than started a new print. To my disbelief it grabbed the right filament thanks for your help toaf!

the MMU is a beast, take one issue at a time.

i have the same issue but it happens randomly mid print even after ike 4 hours of error free printing it suddenly rotates the idler to the wrong position.

i was not able ti fix it without reseting the mmu which then caused it to print with the wrong color until the next filament change

next time it happens ( my guess is some filament slowed the selector)

just cut the power (pull the cable) don't just turn it off.

fix the issue with it turned off. (maybe move the selector to spot 1, I haven't noticed it matter)

plug the power back in, the printer should have a message saying "it lost power resume"

I give it at least a 80% chance of working. without  loosing the print

note: it MIGHT start printing above the print. leave it alone it should move down after the "air" layer (it might be just fine from the beginning)
