Incomplete Assembly Manual Leads to Confussion

To be honest, I'm a little baffled as to why it was chosen to split up instructions this way, as the MK3 had the same issue.

The assembly manual describes how to upgrade the firmware, and then just...ends. It states to look in the handbook for instructions on setting up the spools and buffer, and includes some seemingly random notes and warnings. The handbook does seem to contain all the necessary information, but it is poorly organized and makes it very easy to miss important steps. The "Quick-Start Instructions" are laughably vague and don't even begin to describe how to do the initial setup. For that, you have to go to the next section to find the placement and setup, which is still lacking detail (for example, is there a proper method for loading the filament into the buffer? All the handbook says is "Insert all filament strings through the filament buffer in the correct order"). This still leaves out some crucial setup such as calibrating the IR sensor.

So why not include these steps (in order) in the typically more detailed assembly manual? Otherwise, it feels like guess work trying to jump around in the handbook to find the necessary steps to finish setting up the printer. At the very least, the handbook ought to have a "first time setup" section that includes ALL of the instructions for setting up the MMU.

Re: Incomplete Assembly Manual Leads to Confussion

Hi Worthing,
thanks for the feedback. I will this discuss this with my colleagues, who are responsible for the Handbook part.

So far we are using following approach:
1) Assembly manual - shows you, how to assemble the printer to its final state, make approximate P.I.N.D.A. calibration and install the latest firmware
2) Handbook - continues by brief instructions and warnings, only then you are allowed to run and calibrate the printer

I will check, whether we can improve the assembly, while keeping all the necessary information.

I appreciate the response!

My real issue is that there no clear set of instructions to go from the fully assembled mmu to starting your first print. Ideally, this would be in the assembly manual, or it would simply state somethinglike, "go to section 1.1 in the handbook to continue setup"

I also feel like arranging the buffer and filaments really ought to be in the assembly manual regardless. The short descriptions and pictures provided in the handbook don't provide enough detail.
