Filament calibration stuck

Hey guys,
I'm having a tough time calibrating the filament without grinding chunks out of it.

I've been able to get 1 filament channel calibrated nicely, the others however will sometimes work and sometimes they'll get chewed up by the gears. I've included some photos, I've tried different tensioning of the spring screws, but either have trouble where the filament isn't moving or it's being ground up.

I'm using Inland PLA I bought at Microcenter, is there a specific filament I should be using or should this work fine with PLA? For reference, the Black filament calibrated correctly, the blue and yellow are problematic.

Re: Filament calibration stuck

That sounds like your filament stucks somewhere. Could be in the extruder or in the pulley body.
Select a filament with the selektor and try to move out/in a filament with your hand. It should work.
Check the pulley, sometimes they were not the same diameter (had a huge problem with those)
Check the PTFE tubes, are those in the correct direction

How far you tighten the screws in the pulley body? You shouldn't screw too much. Means on the selektor change, the body moves a bit up and down. I try to screw only 1mm below the surface and not more

Re: Filament calibration stuck

I've had a similar issue. The filament was stuck on the reel. It had been wrapped over itself and could no longer be pulled by the motors. Check your filament path from reel to the gear/pulley.

Thanks, I've seen that people have modified the reel holders. Is that necessary in order to get this working properly? I do feel like there is too much tension in the line just due to the way the holder rollers are designed

I've tried a few different locations. Haven't found the sweet spot yet, but I will continue to try, 1mm below the surface sounds similar to what I've been trying
