Fat tips getting stuck leaving the extruder

Title says it all, for some reason the tips are not coming out formed in a suitable manner for the MMU, any ideas on how to rectify this problem?

I've decided to either sell or bin the MMU2, it is the worst piece of tech I have ever had the misfortune to work with.

I'm sure those with more experience or tighter local communities will enjoy it but this product is not up to the standard of the other PRUSA offerings.

The settings to set up a filament profile for the MMU2 are hidden behind the Expert level of PrusaSlicer. So I assume this is also the experience level with 3D printers that are expected from someone who wants to work with an MMU2.

For the tip form, you need a good hot-end PTFE, the correct tension on the gears and you need to adjust unloading speeds, numbers of cooling moves + speed and ramming settings.

And because those are all specific to your printer and your filament you can't assume that someone else's values will work for you.

@uk-teacher

What filament type and brand are you using?

In what way are you using the printer when it fails? (Manual filament change on the printer, or mid print?)

Can you provide a picture of the filament tip that is giving you problems?

Is this a problem you get every time, or is this just something that happens once in a while? (Having things go wrong once in five hundred times, especially if you print with stringy and/or uncalibrated profiles is not bad, but having bad tips on every print is annoying I no good!)

Your post history suggests that you have had problems with your MMU2 idler previously, did you also calibrate the extruder idler tension? It should be just enough, I am personally running it where the nut is JUST fully gripping the retention screw, bad tips when unloading is can almost only be related to either your filament profile or the extruder gears grinding or squishing your tip as it leaves the extruder...
