can't calibrate number 2

got it built and I'm going through the calibration process. They all work except #2, it pulls out enough to fill the orange ptfe, so I know it's getting past the mmu, but when I go to adjust the position with the left/right buttons it just chews the filament instead of moving it. no idea why. no idea where to even begin trying to fix it.

ideas?

just keep doing it... after about ten times it finally worked. Hopefully it won't continue to be an issue in the future.

Re: can't calibrate number 2

There seems to be a small step inside the lower Festo. The orange Bowden is tapered at both ends.

If you are near to the end of a filament spool, the filament is more tightly wound and curls more.

New filament is cut at an angle.

So when all that happens the filament may get stuck on the Festo step; it tends to not happen often when printing, after filament has been retracted as the tip has a central point - but it can happen and that's why a few users have gotten rid of the lower Festo and used a slightly longer Bowden or have simply cut off a couple of millimeteres from the lower end of the Bowden to remove the taper.
