Video with Raspberry Pi Zero W & Web Cam
Machine: Prusa i3 MK3S
Raspberry Pi Zero W
Octopi
I have read that the Raspberry Pi Zero W doesn't have the power to run Octoprint and a video monitor at the same time.
Given the neat way the RPi Zero connects to the controller board in the Mk3S, and how well it runs Octoprint, it would be nice to be able to add a video monitor to the system. The USB hookup could be a little dicey given the cramped quarters of the controller box.
Has anyone connected a web cam (specifically the Logitech C270) or Raspberry Pi camera to their Pi Zero setup?
How well does it work?
Special considerations?
Wire routing?
Thanks
dave

I tried this and it works at 30 fps at 1920x1080 resolution using the original raspberry pi camera and a special (smaller) cable.
However, the Pi Zero will start to hang itself after some time, but there is a fix for that problem. You can use my post in the raspberry pi forum as reference:

Thanks, I will give it a go.

Any progress?

Not yet, haven't had the time to fuss with it. running the USB cable is no picnic either given the case tolerances.

Take a look at my post HERE. Solution works pretty well for me.

Is enough 16 cm cable for camera?
