Revo Users - Was it worth it?

I likely need to replace my entire hotend. For the REVO users, is it worth it? I have watched some review videos (CNC Kitchen, Tom Sanladerer) but seems like they are all about 9 months old. I couldn't find a lot of recent posts on here either.

I built my Voron 2.4R2 before building an MK3+. I used the Revo on my Voron and decided from the get go to use the Revo on the MK3+.

No issues at all, works perfectly.

Yes, this upgrade is worth it.  Installation is pretty easy then do a PID tune, first layer cal and get right back to printing.  I have 40hrs so far using the R6 and no issues.

RE:

They are nothing but nozzles. Nothing magic about them, with the eyes closed they are just regular nozzles. Will perform as well as your actual nozzle, not better, not worse. Not reliability issues either.

But changing from one size to another with no tools rocks, actually, and that hyped me like crazy. But this also had discovered me that I do not need other nozzle sizes, I'm the kind of "mechanical" user rather than "artistic".

Kinda depends on how often you will need different nozzle sizes. In my case I have used the 0.25 only for tests (Print times skyrocket like hell), and 0.8 for really big and simple pieces that I do not print often. In the other hand, I use 0.4 for reliability whereas I am looking for fine tune all settings and profiles to move for 0.6 as standard. As long as you do not have very little walls or tiny text on your prints, 0.6 works as good as 0.4 with a significantly reduced print time.

Once they hardened version is widely available, I'm buying it to probably not changing again the nozzle ever. The difference with an average user is that in my case this nozzle upgrade cost me around 150€ and a few hours. Lmao.

RE: Revo Users - Was it worth it?

I converted to the Revo system on my MK3S probably about 6 months ago. The directions on the E3D website were easy to follow it didn’t take very long.
I’ve been very happy with it and have used all the nozzles that came with the multi pack(.25 to .8) at least once. I predominantly use the .6 nozzle for most prints. The .6 and the Arachne that was added in PrusaSlicer 2.5 are a great combo.
I’m still waiting for my .6 Obxidian nozzle…
