Prusa i3 MK3S + REVO Six Hotend + Pinda
Hi,
I am new to 3D printing, and my first printer was buying a second hand original Prusa i3 MK3S, upgraded with REVO Six Hotend and a Pinda sensor. I'm told this should almost be the same as a MK3S+.
Now I am struggling with finding the right combination of firmware and settings. When I received the printer it had firmware 3.14.1. The first thing I did was doing a factory reset to get rid of any personal configuration from the previous owner. I should probably have waited with that 🤪
When using 3.14.1 the printer always fail on "Thermal Model Calibration". Somewhere I found a tip to disable thermal model by using Pronterface and sending the command "M310 S0". When sending this there are no echo. Other commands like saving settings (M500) and displaying settings (M503) works fine.
I then downgraded to firmware 3.11.0, and this worked great, and I have printed a few models. However I want the PrusaLink on Raspberry PI to work, and then I need newer firmware.
When looking on Prusa's website they have the general firmware for MK3-family ( https://help.prusa3d.com/downloads/mk3-family ) that is 3.14.1, and luckily it is the same firmware for both MK3S and MK3S+, so I don't have to choose (MK3S_MK3S+_FW_3.14.1_MULTILANG.hex). This does not work, and end in error "THERMAL ANOMALY".
On Prusa's GitHub page ( https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/releases ) the firmware 3.14.1 has multiple files. Here I instead have downloaded "E3D_REVO_FW_MK3_MK3S_MK3S+_FW_3.14.1.zip" and used the file "MK3S_MK3S+-E3DREVO_FW_3.14.1_MULTILANG.hex".
But with no luck, still failing with "THERMAL ANOMALY" during calibration wizard.
Would love any help on this topic, as my wife is getting rather frustrated about me using evening after evening trying to get the machine working 🙄
RE: Prusa i3 MK3S + REVO Six Hotend + Pinda
For information, I installed a Raspberry PI today and added the printer to Prusa Connect using PrusaLink. Since the current 0.8.x version of PrusaLink requires firmware 3.14.x, I had to use PrusaLink 0.7.2.
There must be a way to print without "termal anomaly" using 3.14.1... 🤔

I believe there is a revo specific firmware version,
Are you using it?

Thanks for your response and feedback, Joan 🙂
As I wrote, this is the firmware I am using:
