Printer annoyingly telling me there is a FW Upgrade available

Hi,
Just this evening for some reason when I start a print through Octoprint the Prusa LCD beeps and tells me there is a Firmware upgrade available and I should upgrade. Now I don't want to upgrade but I have to confirm by pushing the button before the print will start. Is there any way of getting rid of this?

Thanks
S

I'm assuming you are using Slic3r. If you go to Printer Settings > Custom G-code and look at the starting G code there should be a line similar to M115 U3.4.0 ; tell printer latest fw version. You can remove this and it will stop.

Cheers! I found that line and will delete it in the next print. I tried deleting it and saving it but it says it cant save a 'System Setting' so I 'll need to make a copy. That's a bit of a PITA to be honest!

You have some gcode that was generated for a newer firmware version. Are you sure it was generated for your printer (e.g. Mk3 versus Mk2.5)? That line is inserted as part of the custom g-code as a caution in case the sliced gcode depends on features your running firmware doesn't support. You can delete the line, but better might be to update your firmware.

I noticed the same thing and was a bit annoyed as well. It showed up in the PrusaControl gcode file, but not the one from Slic3r.

The workaround to press the button is not too bad. My biggest annoyance was that the message did not say that you could press the button to continue. I lost 20-30 minutes going back to the SD card and a different slicer before realizing that there was an over-ride.

A simple 1-2 second message would have been sufficient.
