octoprint wont conect
so I finally got octoprint connected through usb but when octoprint try's to connect it reboots printer but gets stuck on the screen when you first turn printer on with fan blasting full what do I do I've got dash board an ui customizer installed. it works fine when it goes into safe mode where it disables all plugins any help is much appreciated. and is it normall for printer to restart when conecting to octoprint

When my printer does not connect to a running Octoprint, I switch the printer off and on again and click on connect in Octoprint. Usually it can connect to the printer then. You can also increase the timeout for Octoprint to wait for the printer. The timeout could be too short.

What does it say for Serialport? "/dev/ttyACM0" ?

Some time ago I read somewhere the plugin "Portlister" can help. It allows you to set a longer delay for Autoconnect. I have that installed and on the value of 20 secs. Just checked the other printer, there the value is 30 secs.

yes that i swhat serial port says and it does connect but gets stuck on loading screen wich would mean its freezing somewhere i can sometimes connect now

When it is freezing in Octoprint, I restart the printer and then it connects. Had this a few times today and yesterday on the MK4. The MK3S+ has autoconnected every time automatically for a long time now. I switch the Pi and the printer on together via a switched outlet and then it autoconnects at the first time. I have stopped one or two prints today on the MK4 and then I had to do the off and on game to reconnect it to Octoprint.

yeah i thought it may be because im running zero through usb wich your not ment to do as your ment to conect through gpio but maybe it was just it freezing many thanks for your help just got to find a way to make a stand for the pi zero case

Okay, I have no experience with Octoprint on a Pi Zero. It is also not recommended any more on the Octoprint download site. I know, Pis are rare now and you have to use what you have. I could probably get another MK4 for the current street value of the pis that I have and that I bought before the parts shortage. 🙂

yeah they are comming back in stock over here and in the uk honestly there were all these bad comments about the pi zero with octoprint but im running like 7 plugins and a camera and its fine

If you also have a camera on the Pi Zero it is probably just too much for the poor thing! 🙂 Try to remove the camera from it and see if the problem persists then. I think the camera on the Zero problem is mentioned on the Octoprint site somewhere.
Perhaps there should be a PETZ (People for the Ethical Treatment of pi Zeros)! :-)))

it seems to be running fine now im going to get a 3b+ or 4 in the near future i only do 3 hour prints max usually and not very offen so it wont be under to much strain
