Octoprint RPi zero 2 W setup, powered by the Prusa, but no serial

I've flashed OctoPi to my zero 2 W, it works, is configured, tested with a monitor, keyboard and mouse. I installed it into my mk3s+ and you can just barely see the PI's led glowing. It is clearly running enough, I can connect to it from a browser. But Octoprint reports that there is no serial connection detected. When I "test" or "reconnect" it responds with

Changing monitoring state from "Offline" to "Detecting serial connection"Performing autodetection with 0 port/baudrate candidates: Changing monitoring state from "Detecting serial connection" to "Error"Changing monitoring state from "Error" to "Offline after error"

I have no idea how to debug this. I read the linked help/faq but none of it seems to apply to a zero 2 W directly connected via the header pins.

Yes, I had it fully working with a monitor, keyboard mouse and external power supply.
Specifically

Is the RPi port enabled on your printer? YES at least according to the screen on the printer

Did you enter the correct Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password? Yes, and it works both stand alone and in the Prusa, meaning that the RPI/Octo talks to a browser

Is the RPi Zero W correctly plugged in the EINSY RAMBo board?
I have no idea how to be sure of this. Its plugged in, and the 2W powers up, one can see the LED on startup (through the board) Its possible that I put the header pins in the wrong positions, or that they are plugged into the wrong place on the EINSY. The stability pin is in the lowest possible hole in the EINSY. The power and ground pins have to be correct, since the 2W powers up and is loaded. Its possible that the TX and RCV pins are wrong.....

Are you connected to the same Wi-Fi network?
Yes, and it talks to laptops on the network.

Check the soldering of the headers.  Post some clear pictures of the soldering and how it is connected to the einsy.  Someone may be able to spot an issue.

The solder joints look good to my eyes.

This article from the Octoprint forums appears to be applicable. I'll have to check out how to edit the files, which might mean I have to get ssh working as well.
