Octoprint ( on Raspberry Pi4 ) will not connect to i3 MK3S+

Hi all.

Just taken delivery of a i3 MK3S+ and I am trying to get my raspberry pi4 to connect using octoprint via usb using the cable supplied from `Prusa.

The Pi worked flawlessly with my ender 3 v2 but it is just not "seeing" the Prusa!  I just thought this would be a straight plug and play once the Prusa was selected in octoprint on the Pi or is there something I am missing ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Problem solved. it was in fact the inline USB power disruption device that I was using with the Ender 3v2. I removed this and it all worked again!! Strange one this.  Thanks for your help though.

Go into the LCD settings and turn USB Control to OFF.

Counter-intuitive, but let me know if that works.

That setting should really be worded "use internal einsey USB pins" which you want to be NO.

@heneryh

Hi Henry, I have been through every setting in the prusa lcd menu but I cannot see anything that refers to "USB control" !  I have tried turning the Pi setting on and off ( I am assuming this refers to the slot not the USB though ) but still no good.

When I used the Pi4 with the Ender I had to disable the power output from the Pi4 to prevent the LCD screen from powering up with the printer turned off. Whilst this would not affect the data transmission do you think the Prusa would need a power supply in on the USB port??

Any other thoughts?

Cheers Kev
