RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
Do you turn on the Raspberry Pi and the printer at the same time (e.g. via a switch or relais) or one after the other? If yes, in which order? I have both connected to a relais with Tasmota and switch them on with it. When OctoPrint is ready it is connected to the printer and everything is normal. I also have Dashboard an some other plugins installed. I don't have UI Customizer but OctoPrint-Widescreen. If I turn off the printer alone for some reason and switch it back on there can be problems with re-connecting it to OctoPrint. In that case I shut down OctoPrint and switch the relais off and on again.
RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
I do first pi then printer about 3 seconds after

RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
Yes, I think this delay is no problem. On my MK3S+ I can see that the screen with the boot message "Prusa Research something something" appears again after the Pi has booted but then the normal status screen appears. It does not get stuck. Did you try to use another USB socket on the Pi? I have mine connected to one of the USB3 sockets, although I think USB2 should also be enough for this. Did you look into the log file to see what happens when it tries to connect?
RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
Log file showed connecting until I cancelled it I'm using raspberry zero via USB I know but I don't want to connect via gpio

RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
Zero is not recommended because of single core. Dashboard and/or other plugins are perhaps too much for the Zero.
RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
It does it without plugins

RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
Yes, the plugins are too much. I would try to find at least a Pi3 for this. I think these are easier to get than a Pi Zero2.
RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
Sorry for late reply had to go somewhere it does it without plugins Installed and you caRnt get anything other then pi zero

RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
The prices for the other models also are going down a bit and more are actually available. But a Pi3 is still half the price of a Zero 2 W, which is about on the same level as a Pi4 4GB on the big river site.
RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
Where are you seeing pi3 half price of a zero2

RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
Well the markets seem to be different at the moment. I checked on German A*** and Zero 2 W were at about 130 Euros, Pi3 b (not +) at about 54 Euros.
RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
54 euros is normal price isn't it I may have to look and see if they ship here

RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
It is the "official price" of an official German reseller (Berrybase) for a Pi 4 2GB, which is still out of stock at the moment. They currently only have Zeros at prices more or less the level before the shortage. But availability on A*** at still scalper prices is getting noticeably better so we can probably expect that official resellers will get more stock in the near future.
RE: Octoprint freezes printer on staetup
Hopefully I guess I'll stick with prusalink
