RE: Nozzles

I just ordered the diamondback sythetic diamond nozzle.  Seems this outperforms the TC ones.

RE: Nozzles

Does the surface quality of your prints benefit from the TC nozzle, compared to the brass nozzle?

RE: Nozzles

I just logged in and i see some activity in this threat. So yes finally I managed to tune profiles 0.15 0.2 0.3. All profiles made for quality - speed is fantastic, quality is same as it was done with simple 0.4. Comparing 0.4 to cht 0.5 with my eye i don`t see diff... Big benefit - speed for my self prints up to 20-30% shorter print time (depends on geometry, as i had to slow down to stock speeds on small elements.

I also want to notice that i have copper heat block, copperhead dualmetal heatbraker, capricorn ptfe. So for me all setup made big impact on speed, but for tpu or other nasty materials i have other hotend interchangable with simple coper and titanium heatbraker.

Yes. Could not get the full hardened tungsten one. (Shipping&Tax way too high)
Have it for a few months, prints fine. It prints almost exactly the same as brass.
I have it installed so i can mix filled filament, like glow-in-the-dark.

I also have a ruby Nozzle, prints also fine, but had to raise temp about 5c, so i prefer the tungsten one.

No.

I have been using a Diamondback for a while now. It has a lot of great features: better heat transfer than even brass, prints any material while the tip stays like new, whatever you throw at it. The superlow friction is both an upside and downside though. It seems to me that the nozzle is a bit more prone to oozing and stringing than brass. With some filaments that is a complete nonissue with others, it is more of an issue.

I print sample holders for my SEM that are conductive. The carbon formulation makes the filament abrasive so I switched to the Dyze Design tungsten carbide a few years ago.

I use it for everything. No need to adjust for thermal properties either.

RE: Nozzles

I have a question to you guys.

I purchased a Nozzle X and got this delivered today.

It seems like the coating is damaged and falling apart.

Should I return it and ask for replacement, or do they all look like this?

RE: Nozzles

I am new to Prusa and have my MK3S+ on order at the moment.

I will only be printing PLA and PETG almost exclusively.

I'm thinking of starting with the tungsten carbide nozzle rather then even installing the supplied nozzle? Is that a good/bad idea?

If so, does anyone know what I need to purchase - preferably from Amazon.com as I have some vouchers to use up!!

Thank you

RE: Nozzles

I would assemble the printer completely standard to start with,

You will have to heat the extruder to remove the nozzle anyway, so why rush.

If you have modified your printer it makes life more difficult for prusa Support to fault find remotely.

Also there is a possibility of incorrectly fittingthe new nozzle and giving yourself a whole host of unexpected issues.

As you are only printing PLA and PETG, there should be no hurry to change the nozzle for a different metal

RE: Nozzles

I never looked at it in a macro but I don't think it should look as messy as that. Send E3D customer support that image and ask them if the coating is damaged on this one.
