RE: Looking for a single-spool drybox... What cheap ready-made containers have you found?

I am starting to experiment with the "sistema 169 oz 5 L"  air-sealed food container. I printed the bearings and hot glued them inside the box and to the lid.

I am using it horizontally initially, but it would probably be better vertical - still into first few prints without problems so far.

Sitting on an experimental filament buffer - I don't have tiny fingers so using the MMU2S buffer is a chore - I want to be able to access and move the filament quicker.

Bearings printed quick with 0.6 and PETG (not in good condition and needing drying and put in a dry box obviously).

Cheers

That's the same box I settled on. See my print link for a stand that keeps it vertical.

If you are in the USA and there is an ACE Hardware store near, they have 21 cup Rubbermaid food containers for under $9.00 shipped to the store.

vinagepc,

Thank you for your stand idea it looks like it will do the job - I opted for a more minimal solution - small wedge hot glued opposite the lid.

Not as complete as your solution but it works well enough for me.

I have 5 boxes made so far. I am working on a solution with bags with silica gel inside to keep the filament dry for longer. The bags are intended for sink plugholes to stop debris going down the drain - cheap, small, light, constrain the beads, let air through - worth a go.

Cheers
