How to print with 1,0mm nozzle?

Hi

I would like to try to print with 1.0mm nozzle. But how do I setup slic3r to print with 1.0mm nozzle? when I change between 0.25 and 0.4 I usually go up in "configurations" then "configuration wizard" and then I choose  the nozzle size i want to use. But the biggest I can choose is 0.6mm What should I do?

Best Regards Max

You can easily modify the 0.60mm profe to create a 1.00mm nozzle printer profile. You'll need to adjust maximum layer height and extrusion width. Be sure to set Max volumetric speed and you won't have to fiddle with speeds.

Notes on creating Slic3rPE profiles for different nozzle sizes here. Notes on using different nozzles here. Sample profiles here

Okay. So there are 4 things I have to change. nozzle diameter, maximum layer height, extrusion width and speed. Right? but which one of the 8 different extrusion width settings should I change? And what should they be changed to? The same question I have for maximum layer height. what should it be set for?

You do not need to adjust speed assuming you have Maximum volumetric speed set correctly. To start with, use 11.5mm^3/s for PLA and 8mm^3/s for PETG.  Lots of detail here on nozzles and here on max volumetric speed. While your speeds are going to be very slow with a 1.00mm nozzle, you will be moving a lot of plastic, so prints may still complete more quickly.

Try setting your extrusion widths to "0" to start with (zero -- I really hate the new formatting on the forums). That will force Slic3rPE to calculate appropriate extrusion widths based on your current nozzle settings. This isn't perfect, but has worked very well for me with nozzles from 0.15-1.5mm. As you get more proficient with different nozzles, you can create print profiles for specific nozzle sizes with more specific settings if you desire.

Be sure to read the green IMPORTANT box for notes on dependencies if profiles are not visible or disappear.
