How do I get remote access to Pi camera stream?
Hi guys,
I'm running Octoprint on a Rpi Zero W, together with a Raspberry Pi camera v2 for live streaming purposes.
I have also a dynmic DNS service from no-ip.com so I can reach octoprint remotely.
Everything works fine, except for one thing: as soon as I leave my wifi I can't see the live video stream in Octoprint anymore.
Is it possible to set things up so I can access the live video stream remotely?
My webcam stream URL in Octoprint settings is set to " http://octopi:8080/?action=stream/ "

You need to port forward your Pi from your home network, and then use a domain name service. I have been using DDNS service . It works great. With Octoprint, and also Touch UI plug in, its easy to check in from anywhere. There is a good video tutorial here.

However I have already followed that tutorial from Joe Mike Terantella and done all the steps, so I have access to my Octoprint remotely from a NO-IP adress like ************.ddns.net
BUT when I access my Octoprint from outside my home network, I can't see the live stream from my Rasberry Pi Camera anymore.
( I can only see the live video stream when I access Octoprint from within my home network)
My question is; how do I set things up so I can see the live video stream from ouside my home network (via ************.ddns.net) ?

PROBLEM SOLVED!
I changed the stream URL to: /webcam/?action=stream
and now it works! 😀

Just be aware that port forwarding is not the safest way to remotely access your home network. If security is important to you then perhaps consider running a local VPN server, which is a lot safer.
