Hotend V6 Volcano E3D Clone Analysis
Today i recieve the complete clone v6 + volcano kit (1.75 24V PTFE lining)

Before assembly or anything else i check everything, this seller have a good rep on clone parts so i take a shot with him, as i have a microscope i have done a close inspection of the hardware.
My order come complete with all included parts to make it work without the need of other parts off the kit.

My impression:
First i don't have a dissambled or spare original v6 kit to compare with but:
Nozzle: looks like original, it have a good finish, the dots, the drilled hole is regular and precise, match the 0.4mm, no imperfections.
Heatsink and heatbreaker: Just like nozzle, regular, good finish, the heatshink have marks on metal from outside and inside, this will not affect anything.
Heatblock: Best finish from the clones, the block is solid and all threads are good and fit, no wobble, it hold the nozzle and heatblock perfectly
Bowden nut: For bowden setups only, i will use this with Ender 3, this piece hold the tube very well, it also have some teeths to lock the tube better and come with a pre applied paste at thread.
Parts fit the V6 printed mounts
So overall i'm impressed, good finish, complete setup, seens like quality parts, the main downside of clones are bad nozzles, this looks very precise and good. I also have ordered more Volcano nozzles but at a separate order, they didn't arrive yet, but i expect the same precision.
Now i need test this out on a printer, which i will do latter and post the results.
But for now is good to know that the parts are well made

I hadn't seen their stuff before, but it looks like they are selling an all metal clone of the E3D v6. I thought that was one of the v6's main selling points - E3D promising precision machining to provide a hotend/heatbreak that didn't require a PTFE liner.
Their Titan Aero clone also looks very similar to the real thing (with a matching bump in price - but still lower than ordering direct from E3D / distributor).
Wondering how long it will take to see some decent clones of the bondtech hobbed gears.

Not sure if it matters, but the trianglelabs hot end looks like it was cast, and then drilled and tapped, whereas maybe (?) the E3D hot end was cut from a bar and then machined.

Awesome, if they are exactly the same design, precision and made of same material is a win, beside i think they should have a better coating, my cath rust in less than a week

There have been an enormous number of reviews of these pirated 'clones'. The heat break does not compare to the original and will be the source of many problems. Using the heat break with the PTFE tube in it reduces the upper temperature to 245C.

With this seller you can opt for PTFE in heatbreak or not. What do you mean with upper temperature to 245C? Max print temperature will be 245ºc?

If you have the PTFE tube then it starts to degrade and offgas at around 245C.

Now i have finish the clone instalation
X and Y steps are factory stock (untouched), for E-steps i used same value when i was using the stock hotend (From 95 to 98 steps)
Hotend:
Fits the covers for the original e3d like a glove
First tests 0.8mm nozzle, 0.4mm layer height:
20x20x20 XYZ Cube
Simple 60x60x1 square, 2 layers (0.40mm+0.60mm layer height)
I'm using a self made profile with Slic3r PE, maybe thats need to be polished.
Using smart 3D Touch as auto bed level
The first layer looks ok and probe is doing the job, but maybe Z offset need to be tuned.
There's a bad perimeters on a side, don't know what caused that.
XYZ dimentions looks accurate.
A elephant foot can be seen on most bottom and top layers, don't know the cause yet but i'm using the same linear advance code as prusa
Top layer don't good so good, there are missing dots and plastic looks over melted, using stock Prusa PLA profile with BQ Filament.
So far the clone seens doing the job great, the dimentions are correct in every axis without the need of change esteps or flow rate compared with the stock setup.
The temperature read from thermistor is correct as i tested with my trusty K-Type meter. The heater is correct with 40W.
So far there's nothing wrong with this clone but this is my first test and i will continue to debug this and print something complex.
