Higher Temp bed
Does anyone know what mods are necessary to get a higher temp bed where the magnets wouldn't fall out? I saw @karl-herbert post here about a 30V setup, but was unable to find any 30V setups when searching for one. I'm guessing it would also require a different power supply as well?
Thanks!
RE:
You need an additional power supply 5V 75W, e.g. this one: https://www.meanwell-web.com/en-gb/ac-dc-single-output-enclosed-power-supply-output-rs--75--5
I adjusted the Meanwell to 6V via potentiometer. The 24V output and the meanwell must be connected in series to increase the output power. I have made the whole thing switchable by a relay circuit, so that I can switch back to 24V.
I only need 150 degrees C for printing CarbonPEEK.

What else I would recommend: Secure the magnets on the back of the printing plate with Kapton tape.

RE: Higher Temp bed
Thank you, Karl! The bed is the last part of the equation with my high temp printer build (plastic materials are upgraded, bearings are upgraded, motors are upgraded, belts are upgraded, etc.)
My target was going to be ~145C based on everyone saying that at ~150C the magnets will stop working. Are you more confident at ~150C with that Kapton tape, or would you still avoid getting that high / stay at 145C and below?
RE: Higher Temp bed
If the magnets cannot handle 150 degrees C., there would still be an option to upgrade to more heat-resistant neodymium magnets ("UH" up to 180°C , "EH" up to 200 °C and "AH" up to 230 °C ).

As a suitable glue I always use this one or similar: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123795893810

RE: Higher Temp bed
Wow. It never even crossed my mind that the magnets might be upgradeable. I guess I will run things at 150C and see how things go. If the magnets fail, I can always upgrade as necessary, like you say.
Thanks again, Karl. If we ever meet in person, I definitely owe you a beer 🙂
