Filtered/vented Lack enclosure

Thought I'd share. Not quite 100% finished but almost there. Just have to seal around the gaps in the plexi. Anyone else venting their lack enclosure?

why pull all the hot air you are trying to trap in an enclosure out, i personally run a filtered fan inside my enclosure to retain all heat, and keep whatever fumes being created running through the enclosure and circulating heat that has rizen to the top. i have a very small filtered fan dragging in a very small amount of cooler air on the bottom for my rpi and MW psu.

and we’ll be saying a big hello to all intelligent life forms everywhere … and to everyone else out there, the secret is to bang the rocks together, guys.

I ended up using a thermostatic control Bayite Temperature Controller BTC201 w/ a AC Infinity AXIAL 1225

It's whisper quiet and only vents when it gets above the set temp. Fair warning, I'm not using a IKEA enclosure so the CFM may not be enough when printing high temp materials but it holds the temp steady for me.

I have done something similar with a dryer hose running to a window. I found that not perfectly sealing the enclosure is crucial to it being of any benefit. I run a 120mm Noctua fan rated at 54 CFM full blast the entire time I'm printing. The enclosure settles around 32/33º while printing PETG at 240º/80º.

I mostly wanted an enclosure to block the noise, heat, and UFPs coming from the printer, and it works great for that. There is just enough negative pressure inside the enclosure that I am no longer bothered by fumes and can't smell the printer at all. I've read that many people have success printing ABS and PC with about 30º ambient temperatures, so it seems it would work for those materials if I decide to try them.

I should note that by "not perfectly sealed" I mean that I bought some foam weather stripping for windows and stuck it AROUND the plexiglass. This reduced the noise and airflow a ton, but it is not airtight. There needs to be a small amount of airflow if you want the fan to do anything.
