E3D Roto Extruder
Got a MK3S in December 2019, a Revo 6 in February 2022 and have been extremely happy with this setup. Printing primarily functional parts for household and hobbies (RC helicopters, planes and cars) as well as various tools. Now I see that E3D has introduce a new extruder called Roto. I have not found a Roto discussion yet on this forum. Looking for typical answers relating to Prusa MK3/S/+ such as, how-to instructions, standard or sensored Roto, must I give up my existing filament sensor and does it matter, best heat sink fan, best part cooling fan, etc., etc. In general, the experience with the Roto Extruder, the good things and the not so good things.
I printed the two Roto parts as tests in PLA. I see there are several places where supports may need to be enforced and where supports may need to be blocked. But other than the two parts on Printables there does not seem to be much information available for conversion on a MK3/S/+. I understand that the Roto extruder is not a drop-in replacement. But it appear that it may be a worthwhile enhancement. So far there is a YouTube stream that did a Roto conversion of a MK3S+. Anyone have experience that they are willing to share? Thanks in advance.
