Does adding a Raspberry Pi 3B+ replace the Pi Zero?

I want to add the Pi 3B+ (and Octoprint) but I don't know if the Pi Zero needs to be removed.

I'd remove it on the just in case principle.

Thanks Chuck. I failed to mention I will be using the MMU2 as well.

So, when you said initially, does that mean you eventually removed the Zero? How did it affect you, so that you did remove them? Did the Zero interfere with the 3B+ in any way?

RE: Does adding a Raspberry Pi 3B+ replace the Pi Zero?

Typically a Pi zero communicated via IO Pins / sockets directly on the einsy  board.
Normally a Pi3 or Pi4 communicates via the USB Connector on the top of the einsy  board / case

the serial interface used by the einsy, is selected from the LCD Screen menu, when I got my first mk3, I could not get Pronterface to communicate with my  printer via the USB port, this turned out to be, because the LCD Menu was set to RasPi for a Pi zero, by default.
I reset the option and the USB port started working.

So,
I suspect that if you have a Raspi zero fitted inside the einsy case, the LCD Menu will be set to use the internal port.
If you change the LCD option to favour the USB Port, you should be able to plug your Pi3 or Pi4 into USB and use that...

however if you have no intention to use the Pi zero in the future, I would suggest removing it, to ensure there are no future conflicts.

and you never know, you might find a use for the Pi zero, outside the printer
