Cat litter dessicant - dehumidifier of filaments?
Does cat litter dessicant absorb moisture well enough ?
Anyone used it ? (your experience)

I tested these cat litter crystals and filled them into small tea filter bags. However, I had a lot of dust on the filament with this method and would rather take the silica gel.
Perhaps, I try to wash the litter and dry it for a few days in the food dryer 😉

litter cat is for liquid (animal pissing) and at the other side dessicant is for humidity (vapor) in the air (atmosphere).

Silica based cat litter (not the clay based product) has been used as an effective dessicant for other purposes and does indeed work. I used it to dry out a vehicle with moisture issues...
However, the dusting is a problem with 3D filaments. Also, it does not have an indicator imbedded in it to know when to recharge it, so you have to use indicator cards or hygrometers to monitor it.
If you go that route, you probably want to make sealed packets out of a permeable tyvex type product (like tyvex booties or suits you can get a home depot) to seal it in and limit the dusting while allowing vapor permeability.
although, with all the work to get it set up, you are probably better off going to a sporting goods store and buying a multipack of dessicant in sealed packs with indicator cards for like $10
