Build Prusa i3 with spare parts after upgrades

Hello All,

I am currently running into issues on this project. The issue I'm currently running into is on first run calibration it gets past Iteration 3 of XYZ calibration and then fails with the following message, "XYZ calibration failed. Please consult manual."

I think the issue may be caused from running firmware 3.2.3 for MK2S, but I'm using the MK3S extruder. During mesh bed leveling the PINDA probe is way off from the calibration points. Do you know what I need to modify in the firmware to correct this?

The backstory on this project:

I purchased the Original Prusa i3 1.75mm kit on 01/04/2016 and since then I've purchased the upgrade kits and have spare parts. Over time the upgrade kits I purchased are:

  • Original Prusa i3 Plus to MK2 upgrade kit
  • Original Prusa i3 MK2 Multi Material upgrade kit - Quad Material
  • Multi Material upgrade kit - from MK2 MMU to MK2.5S/MK3S MMU2S
  • Original Prusa i3 MK2/S to MK3S upgrade kit

My brother-in-law wants to get into 3D printing, so I'm building a printer for him from the spare parts I have. The only extra parts I needed to purchase were:

  • LM8UU Linear Bearings
  • Noctua NF-A4x10 5V, 3-Pin
  • GT2 Idler Pulleys
  • Smart Display Controller Ramps 1.4 2004 LCD
  • 10 pin Flat IDC Connector Ribbon Cable 70cm Length

The only modifications I've made to the firmware so far are changing the settings of the Z axis in Configuration_prusa.h since I'm using the 5mm threaded rods. I currently don't have the LCD finished because it has the contrast switch soldered to the board and prevents me from fully installing the legs. I have to cut a notch out of one of the legs, which I have marked.

This is what I did but with a Bear frame.  Works really well.

Eh, I ended up figuring it out myself and fixed it. Everything is working correctly now, except I'm getting an issue with Thermal Runaway now. The print fan kicks on and cools the hotend down faster than the heater can keep up with the temperature. It looks like the print fan is blowing right on the heater block and nozzle.

I'm interested in the Bear upgrade, but didn't want to get it yet since I have the frame from the MK1.
