Buffed Einsy case, with brace

I beefed up the Einsy case.

My version has:
• Reversed access, so you don't have to lean over the bed to work on it.
• A beefy frame brace, like the PSU.
• Enlarged dimensions, with a separate zone for incoming cables from the extruder and MMU bundle.
• Improved cable access ports.
• A dedicated port for the MMU cable.

Enjoy

NIce! Really like the reverse access direction.
It never made any sense to me having service access from the harder to reach side of the Einsy case.

Very good idea, but not wishing to nit pick, would it not have been a bit better to extend the door to cover the cables?, purely cosmetic reasons, but it would be the first thing my missus would pick up on, she hates cables ever she met me
😈

Normal people believe that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain’t broke, it doesn’t have enough features yet.

It would also protect them from ravenous/curious cats!

Thank you very much Martin 😀

Awesome. I never got why they did it like that either. Hope this gets adopted as the official one someday.

Re: Buffed Einsy case, with brace

I have successfully installed your Einsy case with the extended cover. It is really nice having the extra bracing and access on the outside. Also, it is now much easier to connect to the USB jack for flashing firmware. In the standard orientation and within an enclosure, I could not see the USB jack from the front of the printer. Now it is easy visible.

One thing that would make this even better is having the cover hinge and cover redone so it opens from the opposite side and swing out 180 degrees. Having it hinge on the frame side, requires the Z-axis to always be moved up during service. Otherwise the x-carriage hits the cover door. Also, if you need to exercise the axes and forget to fully close the door, the x-motor crashes into the door.

As someone who needs to work on the machine wiring and test mechanicals simultaneously, I would even be even happier if the cover didn't hinge but was completely detachable and merely slipped down onto retaining pins.

I'll keep that in mind for a future modification.

Re: Buffed Einsy case, with brace

I worked around it. Simply removed the downward pointed hinge pin piece.
Now I can just undo the bolt and pull the cover up/off during service. No more door in the way.

If both hinge pins pointed up rather than opposite directions, one could either swing it open or pull it up/out.

That's my plan. Just need some time to work on it.
