RE: Best way to wifi connect mk3s+ to pc ?

Orange Pi's are easy to get and low cost.  Orange pi web site is impossible to download the OS from.  There is an Octoprint image for the OrangePi Zero 2 that you can just burn to a SD card based on Debian.  I have not tried it yet as I want to learn my way around the printer first and using the default is easier than trying to learn other aspects as well.

You can also get a Orange Pi 5 for less than a Pi 4 but the Orange Pi site doesn't have the OS available due to their Google Drive limit being exceeded.  You can download a working image from another site though.

I did actually install a Pi Zero in my Mk3S three years ago, but I didn't particularly like Octoprint, so I removed it. I don't use a camera, and my printer is beside me at my desk, so the only inconvenience for me was the SD card swapping. I now have an SD card reader extension cable routed to near my computer SD card reader, ant that's almost as convenient as the Flashaire...

RE:

I have no experience with this brand but I suspect it should be OK. Mine is a FlashAir and there were several postings on this forum that were very helpful.

First thing is to make a copy of any special files that enable the card to work its wifi functions as well as configuration files. Then configure the card to see your network via wifi, decide if you want it as an access point or a client (dhcp or fixed, compatible with your network/server), map it as a drive on your computer for read/write   and have it formatted properly so that it is recognised by the printer while preserving the needed internal files for the card to work. Also note the printer max capacity and the limit of the number of files the Prusa os can manage (about 100 I think)

Thanks for you reply and helpful comments. I Don't suppose you have a link to the SD card you purchased? I've never bought from Ali so would prefer to get it somewhere else.

Thanks

Got it from ebay.

Toshiba FlashAir, W-04 generation, 64G.

You do not need 64G due to the limitation of the printer os on my mk3s. W-04 is the card generation and I was able to find all the needed software on the net and I know it works at the end (do not know about the previous versions of the FlashAir).
