I'm on mobile so can't find the link, but search for "the best $7" thread. Someone there had such brackets to fasten the printer to the paver.

That said, definitely test to make sure the bench top itself doesn't resonate and make a racket mid-print. I'd be more inclined to isolate the printer mass from large surfaces.

Ill have a look through that thread. I guess I could use some drop in T-Nuts and a right angle bracket like these: LINK and LINK.

If at first you don't succeed, redefine success!

At 12lb/5.66Kg, that should add a good amount of mass if coupled to the printer well. I've got to admit it looks a lot nicer than my paver beast, even with all the painting and prep to keep concrete dust out of my printer.

The basic paver was cheap, but with prep and Sorbothane pads added, it definitely cost more.

So many questions... What camera mount are you using? I did not find a matching one on Thingiverse. I don't see a cable either.

What tools do you see fit to keep in your toolholder?

And is your toolholder a Thingiverse thing?

So many questions...

No worries.

What camera mount are you using? I did not find a matching one on Thingiverse. I don't see a cable either.

Did not mean to hijack Chocki's thread...

  1. The Z camera mount arm is from a Raspberry Pi Zero mount (I think) off ThingiVerse.
  2. The camera is a skinned Logitech C270 installed into a modified camera housing also off Thingiverse with a base to match the Z camera arm.
  3. The cable is cleverly hidden by lighting. It's just hanging there. Haven't done cable cleanup and management yet!

What tools do you see fit to keep in your toolholder?

From memory:

  • Prusa screwdrivers (not often used)
  • Soft brass brush
  • Office scissors
  • Hex nut driver
  • Sharpie black & silver markers
  • Nozzle clearing bits & needles (not used)
  • Nozzle removal 16mm open wrench/spanner
  • Nozzle removal 7mm socket
  • Printed long tweezers (sometimes useful).
  • Straw for holding cleaning filament
  • Glue stick
  • Anti-seize compound (same form factor as glue stick)
  • Small flashlight
  • Part scraper (replaced by plastic razor recently)
  • Blue shop towel

And is your toolholder a Thingiverse thing?

Not yet. That's my "just so" tool box that was my 1st foray into Fusion 360. It has inserts for different tools so I can change it as needed. I'll clean it up and put it up on Thingiverse eventually!

Still looking for a suitable camera mount for the Pi camera.

I'm quite happy with the Z mount. When I get a chance, I'll post a link. I recall it was for a RPi Zero but a basic camera should work well and be easy to adapt.
