Re: "Aftermarket" powder coated print bed - have you seen this?

I contact the seller. They only had 5 and do not have any more on the horizon. Congrats on the find.

How very strange. I wonder indeed how they came by these.

I also wonder if the textured sheet will ever be offered for sale either on its own or with new printers ever again. I have a sneaking suspicion that the sheets ceased to be offered with new printers as PR realised that they were never going to be able to catch up with the backlog while still selling them. I was offered the voucher choice back in mid December but still have not had the actual order email yet.

Think about this. If it is taking this long to address the backlog of people who were promised vouchers I am doubting that PR will ever be able to supply the demand. Josef has already gone on record saying something like he would rather just drop the whole thing as it has been such a saga so I would not at all be surprised if the backlog gets fulfilled in dribs and drabs over the next few months then the sheet is discontinued. The promised smooth version has already been dropped before it ever shipped.

Unless there is a breakthrough in the manufacture of these which increases the usable yield, I suspect these sheets being supplied against the vouchers may be the last ones.

Look At the photo. It does not have the lines so I suspect this is one was sold and was not up to the standard for Prusa.

The market is there so I think will continue to try to get the process corrected.

Currently shipping sheets do not have lines. The images show a sheet and wrapping identical to the one I received direct from PR before Christmas. All very strange!

That is the truth. I wish I knew more about the manufacturing process. I know a guy with a metal and paint shop.
