32bit mb (on mk3s?)

Hi everybody,

because it seems there's no mk4 announced i was wondering what benefits would there be merging prusa mini exclusive features with mk3s, aside from lcd touchscreen, the big question is: what a (prusa mini or any) 32bit mb would add to the mk3s? is it a feasible mod? Does anybody already tried?

Thank you very much

Andrea

The XL was announced, likely coming before any MK4.

You cant really use a mini motherboard on a mk3.  Well you could but writing all the firmware would be a nightmare.

There have been a few builds where a 32 bit board like the SKR has been fitted to MK3 or Bear units instead of the einsy.  They run tweaked versions of standard marlin 2.x.

https://www.rearvuemirror.com/blog-1/prusa-mk3s-running-marlin-203-on-skr-v14 for example

and Chris Warkocki has some you tube videos on it too.
