config file download

Hello! Came across this and I'm a total noob with pastebin. bobstro, I'm confused as to how you download the configuration bundles? Would you mind helping me out?

If you use extrusion width 0, the same print settings profile can be used with different nozzle sizes. I've got some sample profiles that you're welcome to try out.

I noticed that your profiles are for an older version of PrusaSlicer, do you have a newer version or are you using the same profiles for 3 years?

you should download the pastebin, it will be with .txt extension, rename it to .ini extension, import the file and that's it.

The basic profiles should still work. Any new settings should simply use the defaults. Unfortunately, I will not be able to update these going forward.

I thought the same, but every time I try to use them in my MK3S+ it shows me the message that the gcode was made for another printer and for another nozzle, even though I'm using the 0.6 nozzle's profile and changed to 0.6 nozzle in the printer's hardware settings. I changed the start and end gcode, checked the print settings but still getting the same messages.

RE:

Change printer_model = MK3 to match your printer model. The warnings are because the front panel settings on your printer for model and nozzle don't match the settings in the profile used to generate the gcode. Personally, I disable the warnings on my printer since I'm the only user, only have one printer type, and make sure the gcode and nozzle mounted match. In any case, the warnings are cosmetic and the gcode should work fine if you ignore the warnings. Alternately, update the profile and save with your printer type. Note that the nozzle size warning will still happen whenever your gcode nozzle does not match your front panel selection. Hope this makes sense.

RE: 0.5mm Nozzle Settings?

Perhaps i do not not get it but to summarise it.

Prusa sells 0.5 but till this day provides no profiles.

Bobstro has a bunch of profiles to download as tekst to type over manually or to import after change .txt to .ini

Perhaps it is because i am working on a mac but Prusaslicer and Superslicer can not import .ini files (after rename from .txt)

If i do have to change and safe the profiles manually where can i find 0.5 nozzle and 0.35 mm print settings profile(something i need to get to 5.8 mm)

According to the pastebin printer setting file the only things that change from default is; the nozzle (0.5) retraction length (0.3) and retraction speed (50)

But what about the extrusion width  and 0.35 layer height?

RE:

I installed the 0.5 from Micro Swiss and printed with it. It looks like that my prints got a problem in the z height. To be precise  0.07 mm to high over a designed 5.8 mm. Perhaps the problem starts with the first layer. The best z calibration gives a first layer height of 0.238 mm. My thought was that I just go lower but than the squeeze out makes it thicker. I used a profile with all the extrusion width on default (0) and the extrusion multiplier on 1. I tried to find what the default values are of Prusa if the slicer calculates from the nozzle diameter but could not find it. Should i change the extrusion multiplier or the first layer extrusion width (but what is the default value?) to lower the first layer. I looks like the rest of the layers getting a fraction too much filament. Could this make the model in the end a fraction thicker or is there something wrong with the Z? I didn't have the issue with the 0.6 nozzle and the standard profiles.

Is there a way to tell the printer that it has a 0.5 screwed in his heater block?

Ps..I fixed the .ini problem. It needed a restart of the slicer. To get to the 0.35 layer height i changed the 0.32 profile to a 0.35 and the seam position to random.

Actually, Prusa does provide 0.5 profile but only for the MK4, you can check it for references.

For the extrusion width you can set the values between 105% and 110% of your nozzle size and you can go as high as 0.4 layer for a 0.5 nozzle.

You will need to modify the printer's firmware to include the 0.5 nozzle option.
