Will there be software for the Multi Material Upgrade?

I'm pretty new to 3D printing, I have my Mk2s on order, and am considering the Multi-Material upgrade. It sounds amazing until I start considering HOW am I going to convert existing models (or my own) to multi color (not based on z value)??

Is there existing software out there that will accomplish this with what Prusa has planned? Has Prusa hinted at software that they will provide that will aide in this?

Thanks for any info
Robert

I think I managed to post this in the wrong forum...I suspect I should have put this in the 'Software' section 💡

It depends on which slicer you choose to use. I find that KISS is very multi-material friendly and there is not a lot to do, other than to select which extruder to use for each mesh (and yes, KISS allows you to select meshes rather than files).

You can use your favourite CAD program to break up a file, but the design is much more complex when considering multiple filaments.

There are plenty of multi-filament (or multi-mesh) models on Thingiverse, either by design or accident...

Thanks Peter. I'll look into kiss and look for some tutorials on splitting models.
