Stable Slic3r builds
Hi guys, we managed to make our own build of Slic3r 1.3.0-dev which thanks to the build process is much more stable. Feel free to test it and let me know! 💡 💡 💡

Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Hi Josef,
FYI: I tried the MacOS version and wasn't able to get it to run on my iMac. There were no warning messages or errors, it just doesn't open after double clicking on the icon. I'm running the latest El Capitan update, version 10.11.4
Slic3r 1.2.9 currently runs fine on the same computer (except for the occasional crash 😉 ).

Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Hi Josef,
Two quick questions:
- Is there any change log available ?
I'm like Jon Snow, I know nothing.
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Josef,
Same here on the mac front, it doesn't open, tested on two machines 2007 iMac, and 2013 rMBP 13". It would be nice to have a more stable slic3r, as it currently is unpredictable in its crashes (again on two different machines).
Best,
Steve
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Here is alternative OSX build done by bit different process http://www.prusa3d.com/downloads/dev/slic3r/Slic3r-alt.dmg this one should work.
We will do builds for 10.9+, as Sound is trying to keep it compatible from 10.6+ and this makes it unstable on 5 generations newer system.
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Thanks Josef, this version opens, now I have to figure out what DLP Projector does 🙂
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Hi Josef,
I have an issue with the last version, as soon as I try to configure OctoPrint in Slic3r to push gcode to it, Slic3r crash immediately. Is this a know regression ?
I'm like Jon Snow, I know nothing.
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Hi, just discovered another one, the slicing of a part into two half does not work anymore.
I was using the version included in drivers version 1.7.0 but had to roll back to 1.6.1.
I'm not sure this version is stable enough to be integrated into the driver bundle.

Re: Stable Slic3r builds
On Win10, using slic3r 1.30.0-prusa3d-release_candidate_1_3
Printer Settings, click Bed Shape Set.. button
crashes with "Perl interpreter has stopped working"
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
I installed the new software and now when the print is finished the bed heater stays on. I looked in the g-code tab and it looks the same as always.
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Here's the end G-code.....
M104 S0 ; turn off temperature
G28 X0 ; home X axis
M84 ; disable motors
I think I found it......
M140 S0
Turns off heat bed?
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
I can't find the edit button so I quoted myself and answered myself. By adding M140 S0 in the G code it now does turn off the heat bed after printing.

Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Looks like your latest build for OS X is missing some dependencies. Exporting to octoprint crashes with the following message.
Can't locate HTTP/Config.pm in @INC (you may need to install the HTTP::Config module) (@INC contains: /Applications/Slic3r.app/Contents/MacOS/lib /Applications/Slic3r.app/Contents/lib/site_perl/5.22.0/darwin-thread-multi-2level /Applications/Slic3r.app/Contents/lib/site_perl/5.22.0 /Applications/Slic3r.app/Contents/lib/5.22.0/darwin-thread-multi-2level /Applications/Slic3r.app/Contents/lib/5.22.0 .) at /Applications/Slic3r.app/Contents/lib/site_perl/5.22.0/LWP/UserAgent.pm line 771
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Would you please try the latest Slic3r build from Prusa3D?
http://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/
The OctoPrint shall work now.
> Printer Settings, click Bed Shape Set.. button crashes with "Perl interpreter has stopped working"
That shall work now as well.
And the cutting of an object has been fixed as well.
Thanks, Vojtech
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
So the Slic3r build that comes with the MK2 is a custom built version? We should not update with online Slic3r versions?

Basically correct. PR now have their own branch.

Re: Stable Slic3r builds
I wonder if something could be done to clean up the Slic3r section of GitHub? There are a lot of branches under it! While it's great that the latest release has it's own page it would be nice to now which is the current development version that is being worked on! None of the current branches seemed to have been worked on in months or even years!
Re: Stable Slic3r builds
Since there are not Linux builds from Prusa, I'm using the Slic3r version (1.2.9) that comes packaged in Fedora 24 plus the settings extracted from the OSX build . Other than been slightly outdated, is there any reason why I should switch (building from source) to the Prusa one?
Thanks!
P.S: Extracting the settings from the zip is not that hard but I was wondering if there is a reason (other than the extra work) for no keeping this settings in a Github repo.

Hello Thanks bacterio for asking! I'm in the same boat!
Could we Linux users compile the PR version from source ? (WARNING THIS CAN DAMAGE YOUR SYSTEM (nuked my gentoo with this... PERL and such... ))
For now im also using the normal 129 slicer build from the website.
Thanks

Hi,
I am unsure if this is the right place for this bug report, but here goes:
With the linked model, at attached print settings, see the issue on attached images please.

(I was just experimenting with faster draft-printing, but the problem can be reproduced even at lower speeds (and waaaay lower accelleration settings) - it does not happen with the Prusa Slic3r included build profile settings though.
