Sequential Printing with Slic3r

Has anyone had success with this feature? Every time I check the "Complete individual objects" checkbox, Slic3r freezes. If you have any tips, I'd be grateful.

Thanks,
Kevin

I think nobody uses this feature, considering extruder head dimensions and clearance needed to successfuly work this way.

I used this for the first time today. Faced exactly the same problem.

If the objects are positioned so that they don't overlap, then Slic3r does not freeze.... That's the solution that I have found for now. Just finished my first sequential print a minute ago. Came out nicely.

I added an earring object, then moved it away from the center of the bed. Then added a second copy of the same. I did not change the extruder clearance - but made sure the objects were spaced well apart -- more than 3 cm.

Another thing to look into.

The sequential print would be useful indeed, if the slic3r was planning for the print head dimensions correctly, so it would order the objects to maximize the print bed usage. This is currently not the case.

Anyway, I will look into this issue.

Thanks. I suspect that the object overlap causes the crash. The simplest way for me to reproduce the crash (I think "hang" is more appropriate) is:
- Enable sequential printing
- Add an object
- Add the same object again (either using Add or "Increase copies"). Both cause a crash.

I imagine sequential prints would throw up interesting challenges with the recently announced multi-material support. May make sense to fix it prior to letting it work with multi material.

Re: Sequential Printing with Slic3r

does anyone know the correct extruder clearance to enter in Slic3r?
