PrettyPLA/PETG and Prusa Slicer 2.2.0

Hi folks, I hope you all doing well. Since corona let me enjoy my printer more and more, I have time to play around and do some customization. I used the Pretty PLA/PETG profiles before the update of the Prusa slicer to 2.2.0 version. As I am relatively new to this business: Could I use them also with the new version of Prusa slicer or do you not recommend it? I liked the preheating and extruder park position with these profiles.

What´s your opinion about it? Better results with the Pretty Profiles or with the profiles that come with slicer 2.2.0? If it doesn´t matter, I just can adapt the new features like elephant foot elimination to the pretty profiles, right?

Thanks and stay safe.

Christian

RE: PrettyPLA/PETG and Prusa Slicer 2.2.0

I haven't tried recent versions of Chris pretty profiles. I've posted recent versions of mine if you'd like to compare. I do a lot with different sized nozzles, so a emphasis is on consistency across different sizes. Mass producing COVID protective gear has made me re-think performance and print speeds. I'm using very different settings for these prints.

After searching for "magic" profiles for months, I found that digging deep into the slicer and printer settings allowed me to develop profiles that suited my specific needs. In many cases, settings in common profiles are based on information from other printers, or incorporate work-arounds that can be better addressed through calibration. To answer your question: Definitely try other profiles out, but try to figure out what bits work and which don't so you can optimize your own.
